Snittlegarth is home to roe deer, badgers, foxes, pheasants and a variety of songbirds, with red squirrels coming up to the lodges to feed.
The original Snittlegarth Estate was owned by Lord Gillford and extended to 12,000 acres. It is now farmed on a smaller scale and has the benefit of local footpaths Binsey Fell and beyond.
Snittlegarth lies in a great location on the northern fringe of the Lake District National Park. In the nearby villages of Ireby and Uldale, you’ll find country pubs serving local ales and great food.
Honister is home to adventure in the Lake District. Climb in the mines or scramble on the Via Ferrata tightrope with spectacular views down Honister Pass of Buttermere.
