Snittlegarth is a dog-friendly, self-catering farm stay, where pooches of all shapes and sizes come with their families to unwind and enjoy all that the Lake District has to offer! Our accommodation is accessible from the M6, and A66, and we’re also well connected to the nearby A69. Located just 15 minutes from Keswick, you and your pup will be within easy reach of many of the region’s most famous views, trails, and attractions.
When you arrive, you’ll find free onsite parking, so all you have to do is pull up and unload the car – no donut there’ll be an obligatory ‘sniff’ around!

We’ve worked hard to ensure that all three of our dog friendly self-catering accommodation options give you a ‘home away from home’ feel to your stay. Our Lake District lodges, shepherd’s hut, and log cabins are furnished to feel cosy and comfortable, making them the perfect place to relax in, after a long day up the fells. You’ll find all of the amenities that you could possibly need for your stay, as well as some considerate extras including free WiFi, washing machines, and wine coolers.
Our self-catering dog friendly accommodation also gives you the convenience of having your own kitchen, so you can enjoy tasty family meals together, using local produce from some fabulous nearby businesses.

DOG FRIENDLY LODGES lake district
There are three dog friendly lodges to choose from at Snittlegarth, Yan, Tyan, and Tethra, all situated in quiet corners of our site. You’ll wake up surrounded by nature, and four-legged guests will have their own doggy playground to roam around in! Our stunning Lake District lodges have fully fitted kitchens, family and en-suite bathrooms, and a large lounge area with a kitchen and living space. Step outside onto the balcony and you’ll find your own private patio, where you can enjoy a coffee before setting off on your adventure for the day.
DOG FRIENDLY LOG CABINS lake district
We have 2 ample dog friendly log cabins at Snittlegarth, and both boast amazing views of the nearby Binsey Fell. Wake up in your own secluded corner of a working Cumbrian farm, and cook a hearty family breakfast in the cabin’s modern, well-appointed kitchen before beginning a day of exploring the Lake District. Your pooches will be certain to find their own comfy spot in the lounge, while the rest of the family chill out in front of the TV.
DOG FRIENDLY SHEPHERD'S HUT lake district
Fancy an extra-special stay with your beloved pup in the Lake District? Choose our luxurious dog-friendly shepherd’s hut! This stay caters to the fanciest hounds and their families; complete with underfloor heating for toasty paws and toes, a king-size bedroom, fully fitted kitchen and an outdoor fire pit. Wake up bright and early before another busy day, and let your pets roam around their own enclosed outdoor space while the rest of the family wakes up.
