Lake District Wildlife Park

Over 100 species of exotic animals live at this 25-acre park with an on-site cafe and a soft play area. Do not miss the Bird of Prey display.

Lakes Distillery

The Lakes Distillery opened in December 2014 on its idyllic rural site near Bassenthwaite, with a Visitor Centre, artisan bar and bistro, and a shop selling their famous spirits.

Honister Slate Mine

Honister Slate Mine is the last working slate mine in England. Quarrying for Westmorland green slate has been taking place in the area since 1728 and is a very popular tourist attraction in the Lake District National Park.

Derwent Water Marina is situated in the peaceful and sheltered northwest corner of the lake in the picturesque village of Portinscale. You can hire Paddleboards, Canoe, Kayak, Rowing boat or Pedalo
